Inexpensinve HD monitor?

I know about the 7" lilliput, but I've got a little bit of extra money...
So far I've bought new rails, new mattebox, now I want a small monitor. My eyesight is getting bad (getting new glasses soon) and I've learned that my biggest issue is keep focus because while it "looks" in focus to me... for some reason its always slightly off.. I'm thinking a bigger monitor will help with that some.

anything in the 150.00 range?

Bought my 619AH for 130$ shipped from a member on DVXuser. Worth the price paid that's for sure. Check on Ebay, there's some package (battery included) for around 200$ with free shipping.

Yeah... it's a SD monitor...

Brightness: 450cd
Contrast: 500:1
Viewing Angle: 140°/ 120°(H/V)

You're not going to get an "HD monitor" (displaying a signal with at least 720 vertical lines resolution) under 15 inches for less than $549 (SmallHD 4.3" Monitor) or $899 (SmallHD 5.6" Monitor)

But for the price the most recent Lilliput version is getting pretty close:

I don't mind as long as I can pull focus. I only need it because my eyesight is getting bad, and I cannot tell whats in focus on such a tiny screen.

Then it will be even harder on a SD screen... it can be done, although debateably with accuracy, with a SD screen, but it's very difficult even for young eyes like mine... you're better off with a 2.75x magnified viewfinder/loupe (with diopter) or invest in a HD screen... seriously that new Lilliput 7" 2011 Version - Resolution 1024×600 (for 5D Mark II 16:9 widescreen support) is VERY close to being HD so I'm certain you won't have any problems achieving critical focus with it... and it's only $250 (Shipped)!

That or get a more expensive Ruige, SmallHD, or Manhattan LCD with focus peaking.

I decided to spend my money on something else this go round. I'm about to get new glasses that will hopefully remedy that. And a Viewfinder/loupe will be less expensive..

Instead.. I bought a shoulder mount, a new lens, some caps for my lenses that are missing them, adapters, a mini hdmi cable so I can use a 19" HDTV I have as a monitor.

if you wanna be 100% sure about getting focus spot-on, just check for a monitor with peaking (I believe the Ruige models have this).

Wait until after the NAB show next week: there will likely be lots of new models announced there.

So far the Lilliput monitor I'm using is fine. For anything else that requires more precision, my 24inch computer monitor do a good job!

May I point that in the worst case, with some minor DIY skills, I've been able to live with this one.
But it's not HD. I'm pleased with the results I have with the Lilliput now.
