Default Vizio 7 inch tv as viewing monitor for hfm30???

Hello I have a HF M30 and am wondering if I can connect a 7 inch vizio tv to it for live viewing? I tried connecting the av slot on the camera to av slot on the tv but there was nothing. Do any of the ports on the other side work for this?

    thanks

This happens with the HV series, but is there a way to switch the AV/headphones? It should be in the menu...

Ya there is a way but oddly its already set to av? Maybe its broke. Can I use the hdmi out onthe camera and run it into the av slot on the tv?

Make sure you have the right cable. HDMI to AV? Never tried, but I would assume it wouldn't work if there even is a cable out there to do this.

Wouldnt an adapter work to adapt hdmi to the av? Or is it a differant type of signal so that it just physically doesnt work.

I actually got it to work through the av slots but its only on occasion. It seems to be hit and miss and thats only if i toggle it from headphones to av and back again and so on till it recieves the signal. plus when it does recieve signal. the image is fuzzy and rolls on and off the screen and makes a loud buzzing noise. any ideas?

Component will work fine if your TV has a component in.
You sure you TV and cam are working with the same broadcast system (NTSC/PAL)?
    Are all your plugs ok?
    Tried a different cable?

hmm well the tv only has a little av plug in. It looks like a microphone jack and is pretty much identical to the slot on the camera.

I am not sure what broadcasting system the tv is? I believe the camera is the NTSC. it is the hf m30

There was no A/V cable in the box? I saw that screen at our local Costco and was contemplating about it. IIRC, there was the needed cable supplied.
If the cable is in the box, all you need is an RCA male to male coupler to connect the cam to the screen. I got one for 50 cents in an electronics store.

No not with mine. I bought it used. I have the right cable to get from the av jack on tv to the av jack on the camera but still nothing. Even when I try to plug my camera into my bigscreen it still wont get a signal. Do you think its my camera? both the mic jack and the headphone/av jack seem loose with in the camera but the headphones still work
