    Default Game #379 (V2)

    Game version 2
    5 somewhat easy recognizable pictures:

    Guidelines:
The movie[s] may or may not have been part of a previous game. The images are a little easier and more revealing, but you need to get all 5 right to win. The first person to get ALL 5 right, wins. The basic rule of this version is to select images that are unique to the film you're presenting. We shouldn't post shots of something that could have come from hundreds of other films. The trick in this game is to pick a shot that is very unlikely to appear in any other film, while at the same time is not a dead giveaway, (like eg, the Red Sea parting!) (© Krute/MAL)

    Rule A:
NO IMAGE HOSTING ON EXTERNAL SERVERS. Images for the games need to be ATTACHED to the post, and thus uploaded to our server.

    Rule B:
ONLY ONE GUESS OF ALL 5 MOVIES PER PERSON PER PICTURE SET!!! There will be an initial set of 5 images, and your guess has to INCLUDE ALL FIVE movies. Simply guessing or answering one, two, three or four of them will disqualify you from that particular game, and the post will be removed. If no one can answer all 5 movies correctly within a reasonable time, a new set of 5 NEW pictures will be posted. Clues may or may not include which, if any, of the movies have been correctly guessed, at the discretion of the person starting the game. Only persons who have already posted their answer can participate in discussing the correctness of any or all of the previous guesses.

    Rule C:
The WINNER of the game can start a new game IN A NEW THREAD.
NO ONE ELSE (unless yielded so by the winner). Game type one, two or three can be started.

    Rule D:
Once there's a winner, PLEASE post the correct name of all movies into the thread (spelled correctly, and capitalized correctly, and not in italics or bold face.)

    Rule E:
    The correct title format is: "Game" / space / "#" / number / "(v2)"
Example: " Game #212 (v2)" (without the ") (no space between the # sign and the number!) "v2" denotes version two, for version one, there needs to be no version number.

    Rule F:
The film selected should be one that has had an international, theatrical release.
I.e. a made-for-TV movie only shown in the USA would hardly be a fair entry, as
    we have international players also.

    Rule G:
These complete rules (A to G and Guidelines), or 1 to 7 if game type 1 is played, have to be copy & pasted into each new game's first post.

A little of everything, a little for everyone, new screenshots and/or clues will follow, if necessary:

    At least that is correct...

For everybody else, too - except: Jako209 got 1/5 !

New screengrabs up soon, but a little piece of corrective info, meanwhile: The aspect ratio of #5 is actually 2.35, the grabs are from a pan & scan print...

It should be substantially easier, now:

    Almohada: 1/5

Well, I'm soon off to a friend's house to celebrate our mutual disbelief in the Mayan calendar… so here are some clues to tide you over (note: not in the correct order):

    - one has been called "episodic"
    - one is a true classic
    - one is a re-re-make
    - one is one of at least three with the same name
    - one is a kind of punk

Next set of grabs coming up early next year (EU time) !

No new year's guesses - I guess you've all been busy elsewhere...

I'll post a new set of screenies tomorrow morning, EU time, but here's another bunch of hints - again, not in the correct order:

    - one film works on two time lines
    - one film has a protagonist with a surname that brings to mind some of Norman Rockwell's paintings
    - one film should remind you of a famous interrogation
    - one film has a player who got back in action
    - one film takes place in 1869

By famous interrogation, do you mean as in "Rex es tu?"

Nope. There's nothing biblical or holy involved, but something holey instead (bad pun, sorry...)

Here's the new set of probably much easier grabs, so let's hope for some guesses as people soon return form whatever state / condition they've spent the 2011/2012 changeover in - Happy New Year to all!

No new guesses? Well, here are two clues (I'm not saying for which films... ):

    - as said, one film is a re-re-make, in addition, a TV movie and an animated movie were made of this haggard story.
    - one of the movies features the very last film appearance (as herself, in this case) of an Oscar-winning actress.

Slow day, eh? Or is everybody still recuperating from the heavy partying?

New set of screenies, I expect to see some guesses when I return in the EU morning! Goodnight, for now...

You must have capitalized on that hint...

    Krute: 4/5

So, only one movie still missing...

    A few clues:
    - Multi-Oscar-winning director.
    - This particular movie was entered, but not accepted as a nominee for an Oscar. (It obviously didn't have enough discreet charm...)
    - On Rotten Tomatoes, the audience likes it better than the critics.

If this doesn't help, I'll have to post a new set of grabs...

Yeah, it was too good to pass up. And your other clue above - it can't be as simple as it sounds!!! I suspect that's a clue meant to lead to another clue...

I'm going to let somebody else get the last one. I really only guessed one right, after all.

Come on, guys, it's just sitting there!!

Especially since in v.2 you're only allowed one guess per set of grabs - but you can PM me, if you wish...

Indeed I do. You're a fellow not to be taken for granted.

Well, I meant I was going to bow out altogether and let "you-know-who", take his well-deserved laurels. I'm not certain enough to offer a private guess. I only know it's not what the clue suggests, but I don't know that gentleman's other films well enough.

And to be perfectly frank, I'm presently ever-so-slightly indisposed due to my fulfilling of certain duties vis a vis the consumption of the remained of the household Christmas consumables.....

But I don't doubt that I'll awake in the a.m. to see the game won by somebody more deserving of it.
