Panasonic HVX200 Worth it in 2011?
Hey guys i am a videographer, Dp, video editor bla bla ect. I own a canon t3i with couple of lenses and a canon hv40. Love both cameras but even though my HDSLR has awesome quality and gets the job done for short films its not the best for a "do it all" type of camera. Weddings, Event shooting, Documentaries is kinda where the t3i falls short at. The hv40 is good but not good enough for this.
I found on craigslist this guy that is selling is HVX200 with two 4G p2 cards for 1000 or best offer. Its not the hvx200a but still a pretty nice camera.
Do you guys think its worth a grand in 2011 going on 2012 or should I save up for another camera?

I'd say it'd be worth a grand... but there are other cameras out there that shoot on SD cards that will do just the same thing as this camera.
Having never used this model, I can't tell you much.

If in good condition, might be worth it, but would not cut it for events as you'll only get 4 minutes per card. Not sure if you can even use the newer high capacity cards on the first generation hvx, as it needs a firmware upgrade. Maybe ask on DVXuser for an informed opinion, this was the hot camera over there when it first came out, but now overshadowed by newer shiny toys.
