Default Short on Canon C300. What do you think of the look?

Like it, don't like it, think it looks ok?

It was colour corrected (obviously), but I don't know. Something was bothering me...

At times it doesn't look that clear - but this shot of the older guy in the bus (#1) is very sharp. Being shot at the time of day it was they've done okay (#2). Seems 'jumpy' - what framerates were used? Quite a bit of noise dancing around the shadow areas (#3). Very 'European' cutting. Overall for the money I think it has a lot of potential but this seems like an elongated 'cat test' shoot - meaning we'll see much better in months to come. Finally, it seems like any other digital camera; it craves light.

I agree. But I don't know if it's the look after color correction, or something about the camera. I'll need to see more varied footage to make a real decision. I know I like the features and would rather shoot with this than a Scarlet with all the equipment add ons and hoops you have to jump through. But, I like the Scarlet look in just about everything I've seen so far, regardless of correction.

It has a tv feel to it. I haven't lurked on this forum in, forever, but your stuff is always kick ass from what I remember and I considered you to be one of the true artists of this forum. Love the bokeh though. Maybe a bit longer blur on the jump scenes when he comes in--seems to come into focus too fast for my liking. Give a wave/ripple like effect to feel like space time continuum has been distorted.

    Looks good.
The only thing that was bothering me is the DOF being to shallow in some of the scenes, especially the one where he was in the big open area looking around. There are other instances where the fuzzy focus in the deep part of the shot doesn't work for me.

Also, the focus shift from your main character to the sneeze in the first bus scene is a bit strange.
If it could have been set to have a slightly deeper DOF when changing focus it might have been sharper.

I liked the look, sound, and pacing. Well done story.

I think Benway is being sarcastic, but just to clarify this isn't mine. I just posted it to get opinions on the new Canon C300.
