With a bit of work in post, I'm sure you could get something usable with it, provided the mic placement was done properlly.
User Almohada vouch for this cheap mic. Feel free to post some audio test using it when you'll get it.

For the price you can't really go wrong if you're using it properlly, with a good mic placement.

    1) It won't be any better if you'll use it camera-mounted due to the mic placement.
    2) Depending on the shockmount you'll be using, it can easily be mounted on a painter pole or something. Check here. All you need is a goosneck base and a shockmount using 5/8 threads. That's what I did and it works well.

Amazing thing called soldering the XLR connector to the cable!
I simply put the cable into the pole, then I've soldered the connectors on both ends, and it was done. Only negative: I couldn't shrink it back after as it wasn't a coiled cable. But for less than 50$ all included (pole, shockmount, cable, connectors) it worth the try. Works well.

    Good point.
    Here it is: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Pro-Mic-...item45fa593527
And here's what you can do to fit pretty much any mic in it:

Album here. Simply add "o-rings" in it and it'll act as a "dual-shockmount". Gave me interesting results.

all i gotta say is this $30 mic sounds good just used it today outside and i was very impressed. all you gotta do is just get a better mic cable cause the one that comes with it is cheap and gives you a hum in your audio. well worth the money

Has anyone tried the super short one? I've seen a model on eBay that has a very short grill, looks like a hypercardioid, but know way of knowing. A little more money but still under $50. If something like that were available for an interior mic option that would be cool.

I'm tempted to pick up one of the long ones just to have as a back-up, so cheap you can't really go wrong. Just really curious of the shorter ones I've seen, I'm not enough of an audiophile to be able to determine polar pattern if it isn't marked.
