Darn. That's looking fine. Oh, and the camera seems to be doing good too.
Seriously, I don't know what's about the image, but it is quite awesome. I think it might have to do with the dynamic range, details, and lack of harshness that you get often with digital. Yep, it's looking good. How much can I get for my left kidney? My right one is my lucky one. LOL
I think it's the latitude. A lot of people compare the images from Alexa vs RED and even though RED has more resolution, it doesn't have the latitude that the Alexa produced. But man, those girls are cute lol. That certainly helped the "image".

Here's an example by the same people who produced the above video.
This was shot with Red Epic, can you see the difference?
This is with Red One MX
The MX looks better than the Epic to me
Then there's the Alexa

So many variables. Could either be shot with a T2i?
Which of these is Canon and which is Nikon?
both Nikon![]()

I honestly think the differences you're seeing really come down to artistic intent far more than which camera was used.
Those videos look almost completely different because they were lit completely differently (big, soft, wrappy sources for the girls, harder and contrastier for the guys), shot completely differently (plenty of diffusion for the girls, just a touch of smoke in the close-ups for the guys), and graded completely differently (warm, low-saturation skintones with lush colors on the girls and completely desaturated and crunchy b&w for the guys).
A more informative test would be both cameras shooting the same subject, set-up and graded in a similar way. Under those circumstances, can you guess which is which?*

Hi Erik, I got it wrong on that page. I thought the top was Alexa. I really want to see a trailer for The Hobbits when it's available. I know Peter Jackson knows his stuff so I guess we'll see how the Epic in the pro's hand will look.

Wow i agree that footage is sweet especially in the darker areas ie. the dance routine. Hmm i bet the alexa costs more than a kidney perhaps a limb and arm as well.

Is that video Korean or Chinese?
Just thinking is there any cultural subjectivity in cinematography? Thats to ask if certain regions and cultures have a trend / style at least for a point in time (time period)?
What kind of lenses are on these cams curious as they seem to have some ability to utilize dof of the back!
