Tough luck. What is she doing with her wrists, if you don't mind me asking?

A third judge won't effect the outcome, just make it 2-1 3-0. But I'm sure you'd appreciate the feedback. For what it's worth, I'd have voted for you, Tim.

Sure the other entry was more ambitious, but for me at least, it doesn't work. Interesting it got praise for the soundtrack. I thought that was the biggest weakness. It was far too roomy for the setting and the dialog was difficult to understand, it has dead spots and is too hot in places. I had to push the system gain right up for the dialog to be understood and when the captor bangs his stick on the floor, my windows rattled. Poorly recorded and mixed. The story made no sense on all levels. I watched it twice and still didn't get it.

So we have an ambitious entry that makes no sense and has bad sound. Tim's entry is much more modest, but it works a whole lot better. That counts for more in my opinion.

    1) It won't like you said, and it's always a good thing to hear some feedback!
    2) About the entries, I'm sorry but Timmy's entry simply didn't worked for me. I'm still searching the story in it. There were weakness in Reelaxed's entry, but there was more work in it too, more developed and more related to the theme. Anyway, that's my opinion...for what it worth...

Absolutely man. You're the judge, so it's your call. But different people will see (and hear) the same thing in a different light, so it's subjective.

I did mention that Reelaxed's entry was more ambitious and clearly more effort went in. But, for me at least, more in doesn't mean more out. A bit like the adage 'work smarter not harder.'

I also forgot to mention that I thought Tim's movie presented something outside of scientific understanding. Whereas I couldn't find this in Reelaxed's entry. So I'd say that Tim's entry was more on theme.

    Like you said, it's subjective!

I'd like to hear more about both entries, I made my decision and I voted for one against the other, but I'd like to hear more people about both entries.

It's interesting how we all perceive different things. For me it was obvious in Tim's entry that a space craft was landing outside the house and the sound crushed the egg.
My vote would go to Reelaxed's entry because I like the idea, it just needs a bit more work.

What is it, that didn't make any sense to you? I'd be glad to enlighten you.

And what did you mean by story not being related to science fiction? We are transfering minds to new bodies in the year of 2050.

I'm with Draps on this one, Tims 'egg' entry didn't fit with any conventional reading of Sci-Fi as a genre piece, even the text was worded as more of a horror entry. I think he did a great job with the post zooms and pans, but the content just didn't fit the theme.

Reelaxed's entry was very long and would have benefited from a trim and a sound remix, but it was certainly on-theme and therefore the obvious winner, despite it's flaws.

It's a shame we didn't see more entries, I guess that is a natural side-effect of the waning board membership.

OK, I get it now. I missed the date on the first scene. I don't like those embedded stamps on video footage, so I tend to ignore them. Before you pointed out the captor's motive, I thought he was going to harvest his organs. Either way, seeking his victim's consent seems a bit pointless.

I wasn't 100% sure of it neither, but once explained, it makes more sense.

It shouldn't need explaining. That's my point.

It is supose to be a web-series, of course everything isn't going to be explained in the pilot.

However, Derek does retort to Simon's words with "I'm not giving you my body!" with "It doesn't have to be this way, we can share your body." That's why he want's his consent.

...Or maybe he just feels bad about killing him. Or the mind of a person can't be erased without one's permission. Or this all might just be the act to see if he is prepared to give up his life. Get the point?

I know which one is it, because I've wrote the script for the whole season (about 5 or 6 episodes). You don't, because you've only seen the pilot.

I appreciate the feedback guys! Thanks!

If it's a pilot for a web-series you've had in progress. Then it's a not a valid entry to the contest. You should be disqualified and Tim's egg movie declared the winner.

Yes of course you know what it it means, but the trick is to let your audience know what your point is. It's called writing.

Did you shot the short during the period allowed? If not, we'll have to declare Timmy as the winner, as it's written in the rules every first post of every new contests.

Well Huey, if he had it written before, as long as he shot it/edited it during the period allowed I personally don't see anything wrong about that...
Let's say I have a good idea for something involving a car chase, I'm writing it now in order to shoot it later...what if the next contest requires a car chase? I simply thinks it would be ok, as I said, as long as it's been shot during the period allowed, otherwise, it's officially a disqualification.

The idea of continuing this project and turning it into a web-series came halfway through the recording. It was written, recorded AND edited in the period allowed.

HueyNRolf, have you ever watched (or heard) about series named Lost, Fringe, Homeland or something similar?

Lost was an immense TV show, not familiar with those other titles. But for the purpose of the contest, you're supposed to make a piece appropriate to the theme which stands alone.

Trying to justify the shortcomings of your entry, by claiming all will revealed in subsequent installments, invalidates the premise you were supposed to be working within.

As we don't have any way to know 100% sure if it's been shot before the contest period, we rely on the participant honesty. I think it's ok, we had more than only one entry and it kept the contest running. Submitting an old video previously shot would be another story, but I remember him asking about the deadline:

Oh! *facepalm* The first incident she fell through a gap that was left in the bales in the straw mow in the barn (we didn't build it), and the second time she was kicked in the wrist by a new cow when she took the milker off...

I'm not sure what your problem is HueyNRolf. I have all the videos on my hard drive, date stamped, filming was scheduled over 2 days about a week or two before the end of the competition. I don't know why your goal is to sabotage us but you are failing.

while filming this EXPLICITLY for the contest, we came up with the idea to make a short series out of this because it looks interesting. that's all.

btw, not knowing the other series which are pretty much the biggest bang on the market at the moment shows that you are not much of a series wiever, meaning you do not like things that have a continuation/mistery or just don't have the time/will to watch such things, therefore trying to bash us/our videos, trying to get our video out of the competition is miserable.

@Tim: that's really horrible, I'd stay away from that cow for a while!

My problem? If you don't like my opinion, how's that my problem?
Quite frankly, when the videos were released, I stopped watching yours after about a minute, because it didn't interest me and the sound was bad. I went back and gave it another go in the interest of the contest. I also took the trouble to write up some feedback. It's up to you how want to respond to that feedback, why would I care?

BTW, I'm watching Boardwalk Empire and Hell on Wheels at the moment. I'm looking forward to the next Breaking Bad too.
