No, but after playing with and enjoying it at a local Apple store I'm tempted to test it on my (2007, 4 GB RAM core duo) Imac, just need to update OS first.

Tried it, went back to FCE. Maybe in the future, after a few version updates...

No, you will update your iMac. It is not supported, and won't even install (have the same vintage on my desk). Here's a list of machines NOT supported: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4664

One more reason for me to stay with FCE - it runs well on my white 2008 MacBook (which also runs well ); I have no intention to switch as long as I don't have to...

I'm not.. yet. Seriously drooling over FCP X though. A quick question I had though, was if it would work with a modern i5 Mac Mini? (I'm getting desperate as you can tell... ) I assume yes?

I have had it, along with motion and compressor, for around 2 months now.

I have done some personal projects on it, as I use PP at work, and am still getting acquainted with everything, but I really like FCPX a lot and am excited to see where it goes.

ALSO, thanks for all the interesting/free stuff you dig up and post about FCPX, cgbier, it's really helpful and I appreciate it.

    You're welcome, Kevin.

Timbit, it should work fine. The Mini has developed to a speed monster meanwhile (only half kidding here).

Bah! Newer (Mac) hardware is not in the budget, so a proper test of FCPX have to wait .

    yes.

and glad they cared to update it a bit. still lacks features but i kind of like the new layout and workflow. plus, i sold my copy of fcs 3 when the whole fcp community went into panic mode when they announced the end of fcs3.

i sold my copy of fcs 3
    Why's that?
I've taken my FCS out of the Dock, but it'll stay in the Apps folder until the machine dies (still need DVDSP).

i had nothing tying me to fcs 3 at home, so i figured a little extra money would be nice, especially since people were paying more then retail for them since they were worried apple wasn't going to offer it anymore.

i'm sure i still have it somewhere in a backup, and multiple hdd's but i won't go back (at least not at home)

I was suffering last week when I had to revisit/rebuild an older project in FCP6. Once you are used to FCP X, the old one feels absolutely clumsy and slow.
