    Default BP-2L24H Battery Photos

I have some photos comparing 3 batteries physical size.

    Original Canon BP-2L13 battery - 1200mAh
    BP-2L14 - 1450mAh
    BP-2L24H - 2400mAh

    * Update *
I finsihed an all day wedding today using the new battery. In the morning, I have the battery recorded for 2 hours with LCD on. After two hours, the battery meter show half full (or half empty).

I have the battery recharged full. In the evening banquet, I started the camera at 6:10pm. It records till 9:50pm to complete dead. During that period of time, I have the LCD flip out most of the time. 3 one-hour tapes were recorded.

I have BP-2L24H Battery for sale

I haven't tried it out yet. Charged it already. It seems holding the charge after a day. I had some really bad 3rd party battery that won't hold the charge by just leaving it untouch for a day.

One thing I recommend to extend the life of your battery is to remove it from the camcorder when you are not using it. I used to do that on my previous Sony camcorder and helped me keep the charge longer. Also, the batteries are still working perfectly to this day.

Please share your results once you have some info. I'm also very interested to know how well these after market batteries work.

    Nice!

How much does it balance it?

Not a lot! But I don't mind the size and the weight as long as I don't have change battery often.

We should try to standardize a test for comparing batteries. Any suggestion? I would test the 2000mAh battery I have if I had a clue how to do it in a meanful way.

I would just see how many hours of footage each can capture.

This is the best real world test.

How many hours of record time are you getting?

Is it still keeping a good charge?

    OK OK.. HERE'S MY REPORT.

So I think the battery is quite good with this output. However, to see how long the charge will last, that takes time to find out.

Well, you could go to Amazon and punch in BP-2L24H or just try this:

I plan to buy an HV20 and figured I would need spare batteries. In checking out the companies being discussed I see the following warranties for the batteries:
    BestBatt: 12 months
    Blue Nook: 5 years
    SterlingTek: 12 months

I haven't found many rechargable batteries that seem to last two years. I would be inclined to to buy from Blue Nook for that reason. Can anyone share long term battery performance info by vendor?

I was thinking that if they last less than 5 years, and I never had one last even half that long, than the Blue Nook batteries might be worth it with a 5 year warranty.

But for a battery that not holding a charge like new, it's part of the "tears and wears". How would that be covered as part of the warranty?

Once my dell laptop battery died completely. It won't work at all. I would think that would be covered by warranty. Otherwise, it's difficult to prove it's malfunction.

    Taky,
the thing that concerns me about non-oem batteries in the XH-A1 is the fact that battery is inside the camera, let me know how you do with those, I may consider them next time but I went with the Canon for the A1 and Sterling tek batteries for the HV20

I read post from DVinfo.net about some 3rd party battery melted inside the XH-A1. I am taking a chance.
