I have a very strange problem with HV20, not being recognized by operating system, Windows 7 Home Premium. Hopefully someone can help me with it.
Previously I had Windows XP with older hardware (Athlon 3200+, 1.5GB mem, ect.) and everything was ok. I plugged the camera by FireWire PCI card (VIA chipset) and it was recognized by the system and HDVsplit, the software I use for capturing the recorded material. Recently I upgraded my PC to i7 2600, 8 gigs of ram, ASUS P8H67-M EVO motherboard with onboard FireWire and Windows 7 HP. When I plug the camera to the onboard FireWire slot and turn the camera on, nothing happens. It is not recognized by the system nor by HDVsplit.
And now is the tricky part of the story. I plugged my old FireWire PCI card, installed the drivers and.. still nothing. The camera is again not recognized. Both, the onboard and PCI card IEEE connections seem to be ok. They are both visible in device manager like if nothing was wrong. The drivers are ok. My system is fully updated. The BIOS settings are also ok. Onboard IEEE is enabled. I even upgraded BIOS version but it didn't help.
After that I thought there may be something wrong with the camera or the FireWire cable. I took both and the PCI card to ma work place. At work I've got i7 860, 8gigs of ram, Intel motherboard and Windows 7 Professional. I plugged the PCI card and it worked perfectly. Everything was ok. Then I plugged the camera to another PC (i5, 8GB mem, Intel MB with onboard IEEE, Windows7 Pro.) and again it worked well.
Knowing that ma camera and cable as well as the PCI card are ok, I took everything back home but as previously nothing worked. Does anyone has any idea of what might be wrong with my PC?
Any help would be appreciated.
