The Lytro camera/hands on:
Difficult to find image size. They call it "HD", and by my calculations an image is ~20MB, but what exactly is the picture's pixel size????
I've been wondering the same thing and similarly, haven't seen specs.
More equipment than talent
Considering the fact that the camera has to capture maybe 20 "focus levels" per pixel, I'd guess the actual 2-dimensional resolution can't be much higher than 1 or 2 megapixels or so?
CNET has this reported. The "lifeless" version of the image would be "1,080x1,080-pixel-resolution JPEG (that's roughly 1.2 megapixels)"

If i'm shooting a 1.2 megapixels camera, I prolly won't care too much if the shots are out of focus =)
That's what I suspected. But: Wait a year or two or three, and it may be up to 10 Mpixels...
There's some presentation on the future in visual technology... bit scary
