Fair enough, I will save the continous take for the next film, that way were all on the same page, and can judged accordingly. So for this one, there's no restrictions, wide open to do it anyway you want, I likey.

I'm feeling frisky!
1) yeah, for the contest #26 a continous take would be an interesting option. And all on the same page would allow to judges apples with apples...
2) No restriction, just something Horror related. Hope we'll get more people than the last, horror is easy to do hence why many filmmakers starts there.
Going to try and go for something a little easier to follow this time (but no promises :P)

As much as I love the idea of doing a film with one continuous take, I don't think I'd be too attracted too something like that, given the reason that I end of shooting a lot of stuff by myself; camera, sound, act, so on. It'd be pretty boring seeing a still shot and someone walking around in it doing stuff..but that's just my opinion. I know I can put on my thinkin' cap and come up with a concept, but I think it's sort of a disadvantage for someone like me, or even Timbit, who shoots stuff on their own. Just some 2 cents.
One take doesn't mean one scene. There's a monumental example in 'Goodfellas.' Anyone remember it?
The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.
Finally, an opportunity where my filmmaking partner has no excuse! HORROR, YES!! We were planning on doing a horror short next anyway, so WOO HOO- it appears I will be entering this one.
I can't wait to get going on this....

There is a long take in "Soi Cuba" where they passed the camera from hand to hand:
"...the mobile hand-held camera moves at street level through a funeral procession, then rises several stories to the top of a building, crosses over a street and enters a cigar factory, then moves past the tobacco workers towards an open window where a Cuban flag is flown in mourning - and then continues on out that window to float above the river of mourners far below."

and lets not forget the grandaddy of them all...
The infamous opening scene from 'Touch of Evil' with a single crane shot that follows several different bits of action across an entire town.
Has anyone seen this one before?

I'm suprised nobody thought of this one, or the one below it...
The biggest thing though, is thinking of something INTERESTING to make it a decent "one take".

Getting excited were you?
Yeah, there are ways around the one take thing though. That scene in Hard Boiled (second clip) is where you are completely wrong. For 2 and a half minutes, that is one continuous take. But I guess, because it's an action film... its "Amateur". Right?

Gotta love the John Woo action, some of his hong kong stuff is just I n s a n e! I'm a big fan.
Yeah, amazing scene! Enjoyed that movie too.
It's like in Snake Eyes:
There's several cuts in it, but they're well hidden inside. Not bad, but I think, to get back to the main idea to include that as a "required" elements or make it as a Theme...I don't think it would attract more people than simple theme that are more easy to do. There's some advanced filmmaker here that could jump in and take it as a challenge, but some other users lurkin' around won't dare to do it because they don't want to fail and get a bad review/criticism. That's my point. That and the fact that some users can't simply do it, unless 1 static shot becaue they're left on their own to shoot it...
Hidden cuts would work just as well as one seamless take, the snake eyes clip is a great example of that working very well indeed. I think it's definitely worth trying it as a criteria![]()
