I already said what will be the contest #25 so I don't think there's any rush. Let's find someone that will be able to replace Dan and do the job correctly, just as he did. I second the mod-team option, would make things easier to everyone.
So let's start working on your entries guys, Unless a major change, I suggested the deadline for #25 to be July 1st. I think we'll have enough time to get a mod untill then. And I'm managing the vimeo page/group since Daniel transfered the powers to me, worst case let's use that thread to talk about contest #25, and when we'll have a mod he'll be able to move the post to the next thread (I think I once have been able to do that, back when I've been mod for the contest..)

Unless Mal/Mods/Admin don't approve it, let's stick to that I'd say...

I just spent like 40 minutes typing out my thoughts on all the entries from this time around, and then vimeo crashed my browser. I was like two sentences from finishing. Sigh. Not starting over, so the short form is, I would have went with Satanicous Boubounous.

Hey Mark, my biggest comment on yours was going to be about the timing. I've been guilty of it too, but when we pour emotion into our work, we get close to it, and feel that nothing can but cut! I enjoyed your short, but was disappointed that it was allowed as valid entry. Your MadMark intro, and your credits were almost the exact length that you were over the limit, and there was probably another minute or so that you could have cut without degrading the story you were telling. It was still a great piece, but I believe it could have worked as a 5-minute edit! (I hope my tone here is coming across friendly as intended!)

1) Yeah, I recognize I could have cut the intro and shorten a bit some scenes, but I would never have cut in the end titles...with the music playing they were just as right as Heat's end title with Moby's song playing through them...But I could have gain a couple of seconds and have it legit. I think it would be more an average of 5 minutes rather than a limit of: telling a story within 5 minutes isn't that easy sometimes. As Mal said in the very first contest thread:

There's nothing worse than to watch 7 minutes of NOTHING.
There's not many on this forum or ELSEWHERE that can command attention for 7 minutes. It's a SUPER TOUGH
feat even for the most professional filmmakers, with huge budgets.

I would answer, if it's more than "nothing" then we should accept it. My opinion.

I came to this thread a bit late. But as I'm already involved in this competition, and supposedly partnered with Daniel (thanks for the heads up buddy) then I'd appreciate some consideration before you all wade in and try to take over. Seems only polite imo.

Hey John, sorry if we've been rude in the process...I'll say to my defense that I wasn't aware of everything Daniel did or planned or even the way he was doing things. All I say is that he was managing it alone, you were one of the judges and thaT's about all. Maybe it's been only a question of timing. Vishus shown intereste in managing it as well as I suggested myself. Sorry if nobody thought of you in the process...What we can do to fix this would be to ask Mal to give you privilege too, so we could team up and run this contest at three, that would makes this a lot easier too. I'm sorry, as well as Vishus' probably too, if you thought we were taking it off your hands...you must understand that we're taking it after Daniel has been forced to drop managing the contest and we haven't been informed much about all the way it's been managed by Daniel.
All that to say, sorry about that, we tried to did the best from what we knew. Just PM if there's anything else, so we'll try to fix this and avoid transforming this thread into an infamous fight thread....

Don't worry I'm not interested in fighting, quite the opposite, which is why I got involved in the first place. Three heads are better than one, so your suggestion sounds like an equitable way to proceed.

Guys I'm confused. Are we talking about Contest #25 or #24 here? There's still replies in both threads. If this is for 25 I don't know why it's being posted here. Anyways I'm confused.
