Thread: Question about HD Camera and maybe with Slow Motion.

The answer depends on what type of 1080p. If it is 1080p60 as shot by the CX130 and HD90, then it is ideal for slow motion. If it is 1080p24 as shot by the HV20, it will cause stutter when used for slow motion.

Given the cameras under consideration, the difference in quality between 60i and 60p are minor; however, there are differences in the workflow for creating slow motion. When using Sony Vegas you can place 60p footage into the timeline and stretch it with the mouse to create smooth slow motion. On the other hand, 60i footage needs to be deinterlaced to 60p using additional software before it's placed into the timeline.

There is now a review of the Panasonic TM90 at

As the TM90 is nearly the same as the SD90, the review should be relevant to both. Quoting from the website:

We found the TM90 to be very capable, recording crisp motion with above average sharpness and accurate color rendition. Saturation was nearly perfect, placing the TM90 among the better scoring mid-range consumer camcorders we have looked at this year.
