Default Hello to all soon to be hv20 owner here

Hey everyone I just joined last week after about a month of searching and reading posts here. Lots of good info btw. This site is one of the main reasons for actually choosing an hv20. Well, that and the price, lol. Im glad to have information like what tapes to use and "read before you buy" information. I'm sure it will all come in handy after I get my long awaited christmas present. hehe

Thanks again to the people that founded this site and I'm sure this site will be very helpful in the future.

Same here! I've been researching camcorders for days. Like a few other members, my wife is expecting and due in two weeks so we need a camcorder ASAP.

After reading the FAQ and "Where not/to buy", and viewing a few members' videos I'm sold on the HV20 and this website. I can't wait to buy it and post some videos!

    Cheers.

Welcome to the family, I am a member of three of these forums and a FCP users group, and I get far more information here. We have a great set of users,.... (for the most part). Welcome and have fun! We are all still learning.

    Default hello..

hello.. same here, today i ordered the hv20 and i'm really happy about it.. most of all because i finally decided what cam to buy.. (i was also thinking about the Sony HDR-HC7 but found little footage and info on the web.. and didnt have the chance to test them both.. so i was just reading and reading and comparing and thinking about what i really need... and just before i got crazy and memorized every little number and feature about those cams... i made the final decision ..hv20.. (although im sure i will miss the beautiful slow motion feature of the HC7..)

i was also really concerned by the hv20 durability.. (which i didnt have the change to test) i only had the change to feel a Sony HDR-HC5E which felt not really durable as the CX6.. lots of plastic - and i'm sure it will be the same case with the hv20 - ... oh well i just hope i wont regret it

i live in Greece and got it for 800 euros.. ill get it by monday if im lucky enough

    Jack-

Just got mine today. I took a few clumsy shots around the house and of the dog, then played it back on our HDTV. Needless to say, it's topnotch. Best of luck to you & your wife.

thats one of the main reasons i decided to go for the hv20... this and the night vision mode which has really low fps .. the features which i liked about the HC7 were not really great after all... also i will mostly shoot in low light so the hv20 is the only choice ... now enough talking about other cams..

p.s this will be my first camcorder so i am really excited about it...
