    Default Firewire trouble Hv40

    I'm having trouble connecting my hv40 to my macbook pro. My computer DOES have a 9-pin firewire port. I recently ordered a 4-pin to 9-pin firewire cable that I thought would work (http://www.amazon.com/Hosa-FireWire-.../dp/B000VB9BVW). Unfortunately, it didn't connect to my camera. I wanted to get it right this time and thought I'd ask; will this cable connect to my Hv40 (http://www.buy.com/prod/tripp-lite-f...201684350.html)?
    If not, what should I do?

    Both cables appear to be of the correct type. The 4-pin connectors are notoriously wonky, may need a few tries (or may have to be compressed slightly).

    Are you sure settings are correct both on the camera and in the software?

    There are LOTS of threads about this issue, so browse the site, or do a search.
