Default Shot on 35mm telecined to BetaSP and miniDV... now WHAT?

I recently shot a film on 35mm and my DP transfered the footage to a BetaSP color corrected and also to miniDV for editing with matching timecode. But I'm a bit confused as I have never done an offline edit before. Do I need to create/export and edit decision list (EDL) in my NLE (Sony Vegas) or can I simply edit the miniDV low res copy that has the matching timecode and save the Vegas file to a disc for the online edit. Most broadcast editors use FCP??

I have the BetaSP master. The thing is huge... what am I going to do with this? lol I really have no clue at this point. DP also has 720p files on hard drive which said he can later FTP for me. But dude is major busy... So if anyone has any ideas how I can finish my first film would be tremendously helpful as I would like to submit to fests. Thanks.

Is the timecode "burnt-in" in the image, i.e. you see the numbers on-screen? The just edit as you usually do, the final edit will be done by the numbers. An EDL is of coursea big help.

Are you talking about the cassette, or the file?

I suggest you ask the person who will be doing next step in the production, in order to avoid hassles. Maybe they can edit from a burned-in timecode, maybe they need an EDL.
