    Default Which Laptop?

Hi guys, I have just been accepted into the North Carolina School of Science and Math (wooh!) and as a result, my parents said they would get me a new laptop, as my old one is dated to 2002. Which introduces a new question:

Which Laptop Should I get For Video Editing?

Suggestions, Noted Models, and Educated Guesses are all welcome.

    Thanks,
    Wes

Since you've posted this in both the Mac and PC subforums, it appears you haven't decided on even the OS...

Get a good, fast PC laptop...

If your parents are paying, purchase a MacBook Pro 17" i7.

I've only used Adobe Premiere Pro and love it, but both are great software. If you purchase Final Cut Pro or even Studio, then you can technically just hit up Apple as your number one spot for support. One place to stop...

With an MBP I'd stick to Final Cut. You don't get all of CS5's gimmicks out of a MacBook. On the other hand, the student version of CS5 Master is about the same price as FCS...

Charlie's editing on this with Vegas Movie Studio Platinum. I've been able to edit HDV footage on it easily.
    Retail price, and on B&H.
