Oops sorry. The current price is $99 for the 9 foot version and $135 for the 12 foot version.
More info can be found here: http://www.lux-cinema.com/the-lux-falcon-boom.html
And right now I'm selling through ebay exclusively via http://www.ebay.com/sch/lux_cinema/m...&_trksid=p3686 (If they aren't currently listed they will be in a few hours).

But you know I think I will start another thread before this one veers completely off from the original topic.

@Almohada - Thanks for the feedback on the price. That really makes me feel like it's been worth it/ like i'm not crazy.

EDIT: Looks like someone else did it for me, thanks!

    1) That's a nice price for carbon pole.
    2) No problem, it was nice from you to plug it! Anyway it was already discussed.
    3) Good to know, I'll post further questions in that thread!

Already posted in Daniel's thread about upgrade on audio gear, but here's the last test I've done using the boompole:

I'd like some feedback about the quality of the mic and the "performance" of the boompole itself. I'll post some pictures of it later, with the recents "modifications" I had to do on it due to a little problem I've encountered...I think in the end, it simply helped.

Here's what happened: I've tried to pass the cable inside but I've accidently damaged the twist lock, so I can't lock it to a determined size. So what I did, as I needed it to do the mic comparison video is that I've used allen screws to "lock" it in place. So far it's working and it doesn't really affect the overall performance:

    I've also bought that:

I've put it around the pole to eliminate a bit of handling noise. So far, it looks like it's working.

Here's the pictures of it, better ones:

That's the setup I've used for the last video I've shot, demonstrating the mic with charlie.

I'm actually quite convinced to get the RØDE boompole for the NTG series.

I've watched this video (sorry it's in french):

    And also this one:

    (Vimeo link)
...and from what I've seen, I think I'm set for this model. Especially at 129$ at B&H.

So I finally decided to get the Røde boompole, even if it wasn't Carbon Fiber construction. I found the previous video and got quite convinced.

And to add to the questions about the pole being presented in the video:

...even if it looked like the mini boompole, here's what I found on B&H in the comment section:
It was hard to thread the xlr cable through the first time.
Wow... this pole feels more like 12 feet than 10. I like the soft grip and the solid feel of the pole.
You can feed the microphone cable through the center of the pole and have it come out the bottom.
The pole is well balanced when fully extended, so whomever is running the boom need not be a "weight lifter."
Mine came with a foam grip around the entire length of the base pole, which I did not expect. You can run an XLR through the pole.
I'm pretty sure I'll receive it before the end of the week so I'll be able to make a short review of it, in case some other people might be interested. From what B&H and Røde shows of it, it might not be attractive but so far from what I've read and seen, it looks like a very good compromise for the price. I'll try to make a short video demonstrating it as well.

So here's the main difference between the custom DIY pole and the RØDE boompole:
    ------------DIY-----------RØDE
    Prices:----~15$---------~150$.
    Length:-----8ft------------10ft.
    Weight:---~450g--------~1000g

You need very little to almost none skills to make your own boompole from local hardware store parts and for the price it gives pretty much the same results as the commercial boompole from RØDE. But the built quality can't be compared though! Here's some pictures:

The handle is a bit shorter on the Rode, but it doesn't affect the handling:

I bought this which goes on the end of a painter's pole or can be used like a pistol grip:

Looks nice for the price, but would be easy to DIY though.

Maybe I'll share my DIY mic adapter trick. I'm not home so I'll try to do it tomorrow or something
