Monitoring Audio on Canon T2i

Hi gang. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on monitoring the audio on the Canon T2i, as it has no headphone jack. I don't have a pre-amp or an xlr adapter yet, but I should be getting one soon. Any tips?

Magic Lantern gives you an audio levels meter thingy, along with TONS of other great things.

That's another good reason not to do sound with that camera. The Zoom H1 is an inexpensive solution (as discussed before). But I guess you threw your whole budget into the camera.

Well yes, and in the other things. But my birthday is coming up, so I should have enough to get the Zoom H1

Provided you have an external mic, You need to install ML and get a Sescom cable that permits headphone monitoring... I dunno if you can use the on board mic with said cable or not...

This goofball talks about it a bit... please note you need one of the cables with headphone monitoring, not all have it.

Go with a H1 as soon as your budget permits, Birthday Boy!

Add a lav mic (AT 3350), and some form of shotgun, if you don't have, already. Much more flexible than the T2i sound.

The H1 is really affordable at 99$ and a Lav mic can be bought for what, ~25-30$ and a shotgun for ~150$, 35-40$ for the cheap HDTZ81...that will really help your audio department.
