Default Any zoom h4n users here?

I just purchased a Zoom H4N and have just tinkered with it a bit. Sound quality is amazing; blows away my beachtek. I can still plug in my shotgun mics to it, just awesome. I was wondering if anyone here has used one with an hv20. I want to use it for video shoot but I was curious if anyone had issues with the frame rate of say cinemode not matching up when dragging the wavs from Zoom into editing. ???

I have a Tascam DR-07 as well as a Zoom H1. No sync problems (well, 1 frame off in 15 minutes or so, probably due to temperature differences...), but I work solely with 25p/50i.

You might have a drift of 1 frame in 1000 (≈42 seconds) if you have 24 vs. 23.976 telecine compatibility problems.

But one frame in 42 seconds is easy to fix in post...

BTW: CineMode has nothing to do with fps. You must mean 24PF mode.

Been using the H4N for quite a while. AMAZING equipment in such a small package. I have not had any sync issues other than when I was not connected to the camera and I was a little too far away from the talent. ZOOMH4 almost glued to talent, second camera 40 feet away. The audio was juat a little off, but we used pluraleyes and it got rid of the "Dub" effect. A clap board (or just clapping your hands real loud) can do wonders as well.

To add to Janke, I have an H1. No sync problem.

I recently shot on a 5D at 24p using an H1 zoom for audio and had awful sync'ing issues. I was able to fix it easily in post but it would have been nice to not have that extra step to deal with.

Do you mean you had problems getting the clips synced (operator problem), or did the sync slip once you got the start of the scene in place (software problem)?

The sync would slip after having it start in the right places. I just had to remove a few frames every few minutes to fix it.

    I'm using FCP.

OK then, you've got the 24 vs. 23.976 problem... a 1-frame sync slip every 42 seconds. Fixable by stretching or shrinking either sound or picture by 1000/1001, i.e. 0.1%.

I never knew about that. I am using (as of today) Adobe Premeire Pro CS5 - any known issues with that 23.976 issue? I think I saw that number show up in Vegas a few times.
