Default Replacing TRV950 - Best Choice?

Hi - have had my trusty 950 for years. Want to sell it and get up to speed. Strictly amateur, but want to start doing more and posting to web. Looking to spend in the range of $750 - $1000. Figure I can sell the TRV950 to take a bite out of the new investment. Welcome suggestions...
    Thanks,
    Ray

Sometimes I miss my TRV-608. Do what I did and buy a Canon.

The model I have is now discontinued, the HF11. It was Canons top of the line consumer video camera. I was lucky enough to buy it refurbished and save $300. The current top of the line consumer Canon camera is the HF-S21, which is being replaced by the HF-G10. Once the HF-G10 comes out, the price on the HF-S21 should drop to about $900. Towards the end of the year, a new HF-S21 should be about $700 and possibly refurbs for $600. That's what happened with the HF11 when it was replaced.

It really depends on what you need and what your budget allows. If I had $2600, I'd buy a Panasonic HMC-150.

What kind of budget do you have? What kind of accessories will you need?

Same here, I miss my TRV340, even if I still have it, but I don't use it anymore...

Well, if you haven't bought your camera yet, the G10 would make a worthy upgrade from the 950. It's got a lot of great manual controls that you are used to. It rocks in terms of low light and picture. The only thing it lacks is 1080p. That might come in the revised model (one can only hope).

I would like to give you advice if you want to take good photographs then go for DLSR -Canon 550D. I am using this camera since a long time and still it is producing effective shots. The most important quality of this camera is that you do not require to change the lenses frequently.
