    Default Optimizing Windows XP for video editing

    Are there any operating system tips or tweaks you have found useful that would oil the wheels of video editing using Windows XP SP2?

    I sure would appreciate you sharing them

    Vid Card: ASUS EN8500GT SILENT/HTD/512M
    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66Ghz LGA775 4M Cache 1333FSB
    RAM: Transcend 2 GB Dual-channel DDR2 800 (2 X 1 GB DDR2-800)
    Transfer Interface: Firewire
    HDR: 2nd (internal) SATA2 hard drive for capture, via SATA cable

    Turn off all the crap. Same applies for Vista.

    Step 9 says to use MSconfig. Use Startup Conrol Panel from www.mlin.net instead. It's much more powerful.
