Installed Free DVD Maker & Now Sony Vegas Is Crashing
Hello,
I am aware of proper settings and space restrictions/requirements.
I have made over 50 videos with no problems...until now.
I installed a free dvd maker (Free DVD Creator Version 2.0) to be exact. That program failed so I bought another program to do the dvd thing.
Today: I tried rendering mts videos to a 2 minute mp4 with simple transitions. SV crashed every time.....
I uninstalled the free dvd maker and also the k-lite codec pack that was part of the whole dvd burning deal.
I tried again...still crashes.
Then I converted all the video clips to mp4 and began importing them. many of them go red...even text is going red.
I need help...what did I do during the free dvd software install and how can I fix it?
i tried a system restore but vista won't restore back to Monday (i tried on Thursday).
I'm fairly certain that it's a codec issue..maybe?
Please help.
Thanks!

I'm not trying to bump, I just had a thought.
Basically I have started completely over with the project. I noticed that the audio was wav.....could wave format corrupt rendering and ram functions?
Anyway, I have exported 4 clips without audio and light transitions successfully. But..my project is over 20 clips with audio (changed from wave to mp3). I'll update later.
I still need help if anybody has suggestions.

crashing as in.. the one where the windows dialogue pops up where there is a 'details' button to tell you the 'faulting module'? that could hint at where the problem would be
for example sometimes i have my explorer windows crash due to certain videos, with the faulting module being 'ffdshow.ax', so i know it's ffdshow's fault
