It was definitely an amazing learning experience for me, having made over 100 shorts. There was much to learn, and there still is. That's the beauty of filmmaking. It's a never ending process. Hope you guys enjoy!

The audio is a little hot in places, but apart from that, it looks very professional. Great job.
I'm not so keen on the Hollywood presentation, but that's just my taste. Looks like that's what you're going for and it works. Well done, conradstudios.
The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.

Excellent. My favorite parts was the opening scenes with the hearse and later into the trailer the police (those shots looked real nice!)

Wasn't this the film that is going to be screened soon and you needed a few trailers to open it up?

Looked pretty good to me! The only thing I didn't like were the shaky shots... but it was an impressive effort!

Definitely look forward to the film!

Thanks everyone for your comments! Trying to fix some of those shakes in post so they are not so abrupt. We shot over 60 hours of tape. We've been quite busy! Movie should be around 1hr and 30min to 2 hours.

It was cool, a real nice trailer!
My personal opinion, in my taste, was that it lacks a bit in the lighting (some shots yells videoish) and in the color correction (doesn't looks amateur, but just lacks a bit of work on some shots).
Other than this, it really looks promising. Keep it up Conrad! And shot on an HV40, without a DSLR or RED camera...! (sorry, couldn't resist to that one!)

That's the director's artistic choice, you like it or not.

Thanks buddy! Yes, I agree on the lighting! My next feature will definitely have more. Our budget was 2k so there was no much room for equipment. I got cops, hospitals, and cemeteries for free. I even got Peter Marquardt! He was the villain in Robert Rodriguez' El Mariachi. I found him online, contacted him, befriended him, and told him I wrote a part exclusively for him. All for free! But hopefully my next film will have a substantially larger budget!

Also, color correction is not finished yet. I love color correcting. You can change the whole feel of a scene completely!

The guy who shot through Mariachi's hand? How in the hell did you manage that?

Haha yes! Him! Well he is my all-time favorite movie villain. I googled him for weeks to try and figure out what he was doing. He did a couple of shorts recently, and he was briefly in Spy Kids 3D, but other than that he was pretty available. I actually myspaced him and we got to be friends. We flew him down and put him in a hotel down here for 5 days ($800 total) and next thing you know, I was working with my favorite movie villain ever! He's so badass in real life too! Ha!

Now I envy you even more! Could you fly me over and get him to meet me? :P

Haha of course! I honestly think we shocked him! He had no idea we were all freshmen in college who had never taken any sort of film class! But he got right into his role! Such an amazing actor and brilliant executioner of dialogue. He also did Mariachi impersonations! it was awesome!

I take it he's definitely improved on his acting since El Mariachi? He was pretty good in it, but those line deliveries were cheesy as hell :P

Haha yes he certainly has! Loved El Mariachi though, I think the cheesiness in that film was all part of the charm.

    1) Welcome!
    2) You need to. And it's not that expensive, i've bought 2x 500w working lamps for 11$ each and I built a "CFL softbox" for less than 40$ that can output up to 1200w (bulbs not included). With 100$ you could have improved your lighting dramatically.
    3) Oh, that would explain it! Yeah, color correction can change the whole feel of a scene: without color correction it looks neutral, with a yellowish/orange tinted color correction it looks warmer and with a blueish color, you get that cold feeling that change the whole perception of the scene.
I DO IT BECAUSE I CAN. I CAN BECAUSE I WANT TO. I WANT TO BECAUSE YOU SAID I COULDN'T.
