Default Game #207 (Heroes of Telemark)

    Rule 1:
NO IMAGE HOSTING ON EXTERNAL SERVERS.
Images for the games need to be ATTACHED to the post, and thus uploaded to our server.

    Rule 2:
TWO GUESSES PER PERSON PER POSTED PICTURE!!! Those two guesses are not allowed to be in the same post, NOR in a consecutive post.
I.e. you can post one guess, then have to wait for someone else to post: your second guess is not allowed to be immediately following your first guess.

    Rule 3:
The WINNER of the game can start a new game IN A NEW THREAD.
NO ONE ELSE (unless yielded so by the winner).

    Rule 4:
Once there's a winner, PLEASE post the correct name into the thread (spelled correctly,
and capitalized correctly, and not in italics or bold face.)

    Rule 5:
The correct title format is: "Game" / space / "#" / number.
    Example: " Game #12" (without the ")
(no space between the # sign and the number!)

    Rule 6:
These complete rules (1 to 6) have to be copy&pasted into each new game's first post.

OK; Krute made this a grab for anyone, I'll bite. Clues will follow later.

Play nice, and I'll be nice!

Oh, and a special rule #7 for Krute, who is just too god at this:

Post your answers via PM directly to me, please! When you win, I'll announce it here, but all the others will have a chance to play for a while...

Welcome back, Janke. Unlike Krute, I have the complete polar opposite in guessing your movies abilities, but I'll take the best guess (or not).

No, not the last. Nor the toughest...

    Here's a hint:

Every movie has a heavy - especially this one. But, it also has an actor who went exactly the opposite!

I'd better also give you another hint I just gave Krute in a PM: "This movie has been mutilated to fit your TV screen"

No guesses? Time for the next screenshot, then (and of the lead actor, to boot):

That woman holding the baby could be Faye Dunnaway.

No illusion. New screenshot, and a hint:

The director, who has a walk-of-fame star in Hollywood, died two years after making this movie.

Slow game... or is it just the weekend?

A new hint: The principal actor in this film once had quite a squabble with none other than Walt Disney...

Really slow today... Is it my fault, or have people just lost interest in the game?

    New screenshot and a clue:

There are actually two hints in post #10 - an actor's name (s)pun in one of them!

Nah, I think it's just a slow game month.
January has traditionally been a low-forum-activity month.

As for the game: I have no idea what movie it is,
I thought the chick holding the snot-nose was Grace Kelly, but that's as far as I could guess...

Yeah, this is a tough one. I can't even come up with a reasonable wild guess.

sometimes i wish we did like recent mainstream movies only. Then we would have fast more active games.

No, it's good to have some older ones in the mix, regardless of how difficult they may be.

Some games last weeks, others minutes; sounds very cool to me....

Now what is an old "boaty" movie, with a chick&snot-nose, and a director who squabbled Disney?

Ahaaa! I was going to ask you what you meant by "an actor who went exactly the opposite". I'm guessing the name is "Wendt", and he/she's probably a skinny actor. So I have to find an actor named Wendt, who was skinny, and who played the villian in this movie...

    On the right track?

Krute got it, and as requested, sent his answer in a PM.

Now, I can make it a lot easier for the rest of you!

First, Krute's logic in post # 22 is flawed (but he got it right in his PM), but there is a pun in #10 that can help you.

Here are two screenshots (sorry about the quality, I have a feeling the broadcaster was showing an inferior 16mm "pan-&-scan" print, too common, alas!):

    One more thing:

Krute, master in the art of recognizing old(ish) films, told me to:

"tell them that I relinquish my turn to whoever guesses the movie correctly at the forum"

    - so, even though Krute was the first to get it (and I'll post his very logical deduction as soon as anyone else gets it right), the next player (or, "winner", if you wish) will be the one who posts the right answer here. Fair enough?
