You can get (at least almost) that same flare effect with a Tiffen 4-point adjustable star filter...

This is the "well known" generic anamorphic adapter (read this thread http://www.hv20.com/showthread.php?3...ric+anamorphic).
100 lenses were sold a year ago on eBay from a US seller for about $100 a piece.
At that price it was quite a no brainer for an entry point to anamorphic shooting.
But would you pay more than 3 times more a year later?
Well depends: If you want an easy entry point to anamorphics shooting (almost point and shoot) with a camcorder or a DSLR and can live with its shortcomings (poor build quality, loss of sharpness, almost unusable at less than f=4, chromatic aberration, barrel distortion, modern glass coating making it a bit harder to flare) then go for it. It is not an Iscorama but these adapters are now hard to find and apparently hold well their resale value on eBay.
A pity mine got robbed; I would have certainly sold it at the current market prices.
