550D Live View - Please help
Hello guys,
I was wondering if you would please be able to help me out.
I am wanting to use my 550D as a "live view" camera - ie. having the camera in one room showing a performance. Then having a projector in another isolated room displaying what the camera is showing in the other room.
This works fine through the HDMI - except for the fact that the magnifying frame is displayed. Does anyone know if there is anyone to disable this?
Or any software for PC that I can get to use the camera in this way through USB?
Thanks very much,
Ben.

When using the remote software control (EOS utility), I noticed that there is no frame displayed on standby when the face recognition setting was employed. You could then use a screen capture and send it to an external monitor. The quality would be no better than DVD (480i) but for a projector that would be fine.

Unfortunately, the T2i has no clean HDMI out. The feature does not frequently appear on tapeless cameras, because video isn't captured from solid-state media.
I think vince probably has the best idea. It's a workaround but it is the only know way to get a clean output from the camera. Please note that you will need a relatively fast computer to capture the stream at a reasonable framerate.
