Default Trailer for a Short Film

So the deal is that this is only the first 1/4 or so of the trailer, and only a draft at that, which is why feedback is really critical to me right now. I was thinking of maybe having the deep voice over thing happening over this, something like 'This holiday season, prepare yourself...'

Basically the film is about a psychopathic cereal killer. This is the 'everything is good and happy' part of the trailer if you know what I mean, I'm thinking after this of having lots of flashes and flicking between shots of screaming and the psycho doing stuff showing how this happy world is totally contrasted...

This is for my AS level media project, so all feedback is wanted! Good or bad! Just please throw it all at me!

Did you shoot this 16:9 and then decide to crop later by just chopping the top and the bottom? The framing is pretty off on a lot of the shots where you've cut people's heads in half because of the aspect ratio. I'd recommend you re-frame a lot of it.

You're just lucky to be able to do an AS Film longer than 2 Minutes... That's all the time we get... and we have to somehow cram a story into that!

there's no serial killer stuff in your serial killer trailer. no cereal either (hey maybe that's what you meant).

Id recommend boiling your story down to three sentences so that you can keep track of it. Also, easier to change a sentence than to reshoot.

    Kids at a party
    Psycho guy goes nuts
    -----?

whatevers in the middle (act two) is the longest part and also what the movie is about.

this trailer is all act one- act two is what the movie is about and should be most of your trailer.

    give me cereal.

also to the other guy-- you can squeeze a story into 2 minutes. Just write three sentences. The sentence in the middle is the thing your movie is about, keep it the longest part

    guys makes a sandwich
    sandwich starts talking
    ----

make up an ending. I said possible not easy.

haha thanks, I've got a story-type thing. More of a scene from a bigger film, but tells most of what the bigger film is about.
