Default Amatuer Filmmaker, curious about certain specs with the HV40

I don't know if this counts as multiple questions or if that's allowed and stuff, but here goes:

I understand that 24p is the standard for feature film movies. I also realized that manual focusing is the best way to get professional looking footage, is there any accessory or something that allows me to use MF more freely? as other owners know, it's a pretty tight spot where the focus is, and i don't want to slow filming down by getting a finger in the shot or something.

ANY ADVICE FOR A NOVICE FILMMAKER WILL BE GREATLY APPRETIATED TOO.

Any form of focus ring or adapter (there are several floating around) can greatly help in this situation.

Blxpster, are you in NTSC (30fps) or PAL (25fps) land? Consider using 30p or 25p instead of 24p if you don't have software that can handle native 24fps - much less hassle...

There are DIY-instructions on how to build a focus rig right here on this forum. I suggest you look through the threads - these your questions (and probably most future ones) have already been answered here.

Wow, wasn't expecting a degrading comment toward the MFR, but yes, the follow focus is another device that works. OP was asking about focus accessories so I posted the link to the MFR page. It is your opinion that the FF is "better" than the "MFR", but don't disrespect IRV like it's a piece of crap in comparison.

Sorry about that, I think I've just been too obsessed with the HVFF. Yeah I don't think IRV's is crap, he had it professionally manufactured and I really wanted to buy it myself, until I found the alternative solution that worked for me. I didn't mean to degrade it, it was kinda just a funny comment

Unlike my 550d which i focus manualy i very rarely focus manualy with my hv30 unless there is a specific reason like keeping the main subject out of focus before focusing in, the hv series have brilliant af imo.
