I will enter this one. I was filming an atmospheric / nostalgic christmas vid anyway for friends. It won't win but at least it will be a submission. I shot some footage downtown last night while it was snowing...

The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.
Okay thanks for the reply. I was wondering why the change but I get what you're saying now.
How are we all doing? It's been a little silent here....i wrote my script, and shot it on Sunday with some friends, but 99% of it is unusable as we only has a 1-hour time frame to work with, and nobody knew their lines! :P So a re-shoot with myself and maybe my sisters...

I'm hoping to enter this one and I've got my idea ready but I'm not sure if I'll have time since I have so many other video projects going on. Hope I can get some time to do it!
Looking good for my Xmas short. Hopefully others have managed to make time for theirs as well.
Good to hear it RockDonkey
If anyone was planning to enter, but decided not to... please PM me your interest in being a judge.
So far there is one entry. I will try to make it available for viewing and judging shortly after the deadline (about 3 hours from now).
Daniel has been in touch with me by email, but he has internet problems and can't seem to get on this site.
This is a hard season to run a contest, I couldn't get a crew together to do anything, everyone has family gatherings and that sort of thing. So I wouldn't have been surprised if there were no entries.
By the way, I hope everyone the world around had a very enjoyable and fun Christmas. Good luck to us all in the coming New Year!

The contest deadline has arrived and we do have one entry. It can be viewed here and as soon as it is all loaded on my computer and I can watch it non stop (I do have a slow internet connection) my comments will follow.

"A Ghost My Last Hope" by Wal Friman
Another unusual and to the viewer, challenging, video. Again we see very effective and smooth implementation of greenscreen/compositing used to create a somewhat "dark" mood and feel.
I did notice a significant improvement over his last entry in the audio, audio level was consistent and the one actor's voice was deep and resonant, but again with a bit of a "dark" feel.
The suggestions that follow are meant strictly as constructive comments and are not criticisms as such.
First: I would like to have seen just a little more light on the main (and only) character, to visually define him a bit better. But I also recognize that this is an artistic choice by the film maker and likely represents the exact manner in which he wished to portray this character.
Second: I felt the transitions to and from black were too "abrupt". A rapid "fade to black" and "fade up from black" would have had a less jarring effect on the viewer.
All in all, a quite well done short. And the winner for this contest. Congrats Wal!
I'll ask Daniel to email me the topic of the next one so anyone wanting to "roll with it" can get on it.
