Recreating a scene...That sounds great!

Mal offered a suggestion I've taken for the next one (#21). It will be announced once we have judging on this one in.
It's going to be a challenge but one that can be a lot of fun with some imagination.

Yeah...Paperkut, I liked your idea of recreating a movie scene. I was gonna do the scene from Pulp Fiction where Marcellus Wallace (ving rhames) is talking to Butch (bruce willis) about throwing the fight. I have a friend who looks pretty close to Ving Rhames. It was gonna be a riot. Maybe some other time I suppose.

Something for you to read... :-)
Rename this to DIRECTOR'S SCHOOL. Then throw bad scripts to the contestants who practice their director skills by changing the
crappy script into something as good as possible. Or alternatively give the director a high concept script, but then the script would
only be half finished. Well, work with whatever typical director's problem and learn from that. Could attract a lot of people because
it would be playful with a serious undertone. Interesting for everybody who wants to call themselves directors or improve their director
skills, basically.
So instead of themes there would be an assignment given that could be an assignment that a film school student could be given. Good
assignments - good progress - more interest.
You could always offer it to another member who can't come up with a good idea for it, unless you feel the need to keep it close.
I like the idea, Rockdonkey, and I'd like it to come to fruition, but I'm not sure the chances. I think the contest is in need of some variety and that would be a cool activity if scripts were put together. I liked a previous idea of yours being that a story is started, yet it's up to the person to finish it, kind of like what you just stated actually..
I doubt anyone here would want to shoot it... it has 20 characters (played by as little as 4 actors/1 actress) and requires a number of props and a bit of makeup... I could cut it down a bit and try to shoot it if my volunteer actors can agree on the same date, but editing time might still be a problem... well see.
Will be putting up that contest sometime in the next few hours guys...
How about a publicity? Just a simple idea.
Everyone gets the same piece of music and have to use that as the theme in the film.
The musician could be just someone invited and be given free hands to create whatever he wants, then also judge the films if he feels like it.
The HD short shorts 3 contest has already done that, and it gave interesting results as well!
Company logo-competition. Thought behind is that you later have use of it.
"A joke backfires" There's scope for comedy and/or drama. I can think of an incident, which I was part of, which would form the basis for a good script.
Or just "backfire" and leave it open?
The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.
