Anyway, it looks impressive. However, I didn't feel compelled to see the whole thing, apart from the impressive pictures, it lacks a hook.

Just disgusting in my opinion. Shame on DSLR...

If he used the original footage with the flames, I'm sure it would look much better. The VFX work with the smoke and flames is really good. It's just the ugly blue tint that didn't match the flames... that gloomy footage made the flames pop and look fake. Just my opinion. Maybe post a few more tests of that shot, one with original footage and we'll see which one looks realistic.

hmm, not sure what color correction andrew kramer thing ur speaking of. But calling it disgusting may be a LITTLE harsh, I just tried to follow professional films. Either way thank you for watching.

We do not shoot that long during the day and the cast and crew knows we have no money. It's all apart of working together to make the film work regardless of money. So everyone comes already eaten. SOMETIMES we get restaurants to feed us for a credit in the film if the shooting is long. It's a very guerilla style of filmmaking and once money actually comes we can have such accommodations.

That sets the scene, but what's the story, who are the characters? Burning buildings and panicked crowds, portrayed by news presenters doesn't engage me.

That actually looks quite impressive. Really well done. I'm against those who hate the colour grading though... It suits, considering the feel you're going for in the film. It looks quite well done!

I hate this dark, gloomy color grading that everyone started using after Andrew Kramer introduced it to the world.
That's because you fail to see when the colour is used to it's potential, and not just to make it "Cool". For this film, the gloomy feel is what you should be seeing. The world is ending, you should feel depressed about it. That's what the colour correction is doing... making you feel depressed. Don't diss a film just because of it's colour grading, unless you actually understand how to use grading to effectively set a mood for your film. Would Underbelly be a cooler movie if it didn't have that blue texture to it? Yes... it'd be boring. It's not though, because they understood how to make the environment seem different by adding decent colour correction to it.

Please note this is a character driven film. I want to set up the scene before i introduce the characters. No worries.

I agree with HueyNRolf based on the footage provided. But it seems that most Hollywood thriller/drama film trailers nowadays utilize the shock and awe factor rather than introducing characters. And it seems to work in terms of box office sales. So I believe the average movie going crowd would find this clip you posted more appealing. But I'm a little confused... is this the trailer or the first 4 minutes of the film? Looking forward to the complete film.

It's the first 4 minutes and it was just very hard to pack character dev and involve the setting up the scene. Mind you will a character from the intro followed into the story, but yeah, it's there.

Footage looks great, very impressive with all the resources you were able to gather for this. I like the fact that you shot the scene where the people are loading their cars and fleeing their homes while it was raining, it adds a sense of urgency to the whole thing and is a nice subtle detail. Looking forward to the whole thing, keep us updated. Good work!

Fred, I think Tim was making a little joke about the way you phrased '...So everyone comes already eaten.' Fed, works better.

I have an overactive imagination at times, and add that to an off-the-wall sense of humour...

I liked the "behind the scene" shots. I would have watched the video, but my computer gets cranky sometimes over HD...
