Default What editing software (MAC & PC) are you using with your HV20?

I've been screwing around with a trial version of PE4, but am having problems with very unstable HDV capture, sooooo..... I was wondering what software some of you are using to capture and edit HD footage... Hopefully I can get some ideas from you guys pertaining to newly released, or still available software.

    Thanks in advance.

Well im a total newbie, so you probably should not listen to me! But I'm using Adobe PE 4.0 for editing and HDVsplit for capturing.. I dont know why you get errors when capturing with PE4, I works just fine for me. But I prefer to use HDVsplit for capturing, it gives me more freedom.

Why dont you try HDVsplit for capturing too?

    Vegas Pro 8 with HDVSplit.

Vegas all the way. So simple to use, no steep learning curve. It delivers exactly what it promises.

I use HDVsplit for capturing (free download)
I now use AVIsynth for transcoding m2t to avi (also a free download)
I use VirtualDub for pulldown removal (also a free download)
I use Blender 3D for its built-in NLE, node editor, title effects, (also a free download)
For DVD burning, I've been using Roxio's MyDVD basic (came with my Vista, and yes, the software is horribly limited when it comes to menu features, but does a great job burning it to DVD and playback from DVD is excellent)

Hmm interesting, I never looked close enough at Blender to notice the NLE. I'm happy with premiere of course, but it might be worth another look at blender.

It's pretty good, I love using its NLE mainly for its simplicity. I can use it in conjunction with my 3D scene to make 3D title effects, green screen compositing with the node editor, all the filters I can make myself with its node editor. I originally intended to use Blender with 3D animation, but lately, I've been using it for video editing purposes lol. :P

Capture everything with HDV Split. I'm playing around with Ulead VideoStudio 11+, and will probably try Pinnacle Studio 11+.

I assume it's because HDVSplit splits up all your footage seperately where Vegas might not.

That's why I use it instead of capturing with Premiere.. especially when shooting 24p so pulldown removal is done correctly.
