Looking for advice on setting up Canon HV40 + Sennheiser ME 66/K6

Hi. First time here. Very glad this exists, by the way, lots of great info.
I need avice. I have a Canon HV40 and I just bought a Sennheiser ME 66/K6. What's the best setup to get them together? I bought an XLR to mini jack already, it's the other stuff I'm looking for.
I am also concerned that being a long microphone for the camera, that using a dead cat would show so I am thinking of getting the Sennheiser MZW 66 PRO black velour windscreen. Any advice on all of the above?

A deadcat is good to have in windy conditions. Can you angle it up just so much that it doesn't show at the camera's widest setting?

I made a holder to keep my l-o-o-o-n-g t.bone 9900 in place, after ruining a few shots with fur at the top...

yes I suppose I could angle it, but not with a shock mount, with a microphone clamp with hotshoe. don't know. need help with this...

In case someone has a similar enquiry, I ended up getting the Rycote Universal Camera Kit. It has to be set up with the additional Hot Shoe Extension to raise height in order to allow the microphone to be placed on the right side of the camera (though it has to be shifted slightly when inserting/removing a tape). I recommend this kit to anyone, it feels really sturdy and has additional bits to put microphone on a boompole, plus it comes with windshield. A bit pricey but I think justified by the quality.

I'm new here (posting wise). You guys are a lot of help, thank you. I've been reading that some people have seen the hv40 at Sears and other places for a better price than what I just got. Me, I just bought a bare bones for $500 with 5 extra Sony tapes. I'm happy, it's going to be a little change coming from my TRV-730, it's been my friend for so long I'm not going to know what to do with this little black unit.

I just wanted to stick my head in and say thanks for all you're postings, it helps others that love this little outstanding camera.
