By now I'm sure Marcy has told you I've been a fan of your work for a while now. She's my sister and until I saw "Modern Gods" I had no idea she was working with you. Just out of curiosity what did you have her doing on this on and on "Inventory". And I see in the end titles and credits you put Fred to work on something too.

    Hey Fred.

Great job as always. However, it looks like (according to that BTS shot) that you were recording the location sound off the boom mic to the 7D?
The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.

hey, we had a one mic connected to the camera so we can sync it with the video with the boom later in post.

Do you shoot these for fun, as a learning experiment, or do you enter them in festivals in an attempt to promote your skills? I suppose the answer could be yes to all 3.

If you enter fests, which of your shorts have you entered and how have you done?

Yes to all three i guess, but i also try to hone the craft which each film i make.

I submit to almost all festivals in the south and now going west and north.

    May I offer one thought:
Your visuals could very easily stand on their own without the voiceover explanations. The message was clear.
    Great concept.

Framing, lighting, editing, acting, all great. Story didn't do anything for me. I'm not saying it was bad story telling, just not the genre that appeals to me.

Amazingly well made short film. I just felt the message at the end was a bit too self-righteous. Why can't he just have been horribly disfigured without the morals? I think it's the "Are you?" that ends up bothering me. It seems forced that he talks to the camera directly while everything else in the film feels natural. Camera, lighting and sound are all superb!
