My personal website utilizes a black background with sea-blue and green text. I personally think green is an excellent color choice, but I think that black background or dark grey would be better here, but maybe keep the green as text color.
I am friends with a color expert, who has published a widely distributed book called "The Dewey Color System". Colors determine a lot about personality, emotion, and feelings.
I think that the green color scheme used previously is great and has contributed heavily to this forum's success, but I think that this forum needs a little bit more pizaz.. I'm thinking that you should keep the green text, add a black or dark grey background, and add some orange/reddish colors to the forum topics.
Orange/red represents a positive outlook... I"ve learned this from Indian Weddings I've shot. Indians seem to appreciate colors a lot, and I just think some Orange/Reds would be nice for a change... my 2 cents..

Well, I haven't even got to the point of re-installing the media management plugins. So what ever works now is a bonus!
The green style is now looking okay, sort of. About 70% finished...

If you see some RED or PURPLE color, if you (I mean anyone, as in yous!
I choose a RED or PURPLE color if I don't know what it changes...
Also, a screen-grab from what the site looked like before would still be very helpful..

BTW: you might want to look into changing the default index page. It now automatically prompts for a login instead of simply going to the forums in read-only mode. I thought the forum was hacked or something... :P
