Dude, just send it back. Save yourself the cash. I'll do the upgrade for free and send it back since yours was kinda messed up from the beginning- and you were one of the first to buy one.
If you buy another HVFF, do it because you have another HVXX that you want to suit up-and I'll just send you the 2.5 parts and SIMPLE instructions to assemble for your original HVFF.

No rodents here! The wheel is of my own design and consists of several parts that function together to operate smoothly and quietly. This is a DRAMATIC improvement from the original and 2.0 designs, if not just for the fact that it's 75% quieter. It's a total home run. I've gotten to know all the thousands of hardware store parts SO well, that I'm finding incredible ways to design stuff. It's a lot like a giant LEGO store!!!
Yup. All the improvements and upgrades have added substantially to the cost. This was inevitable, really, and I think the extra cash is worth what you get. The 2.5 is MUCH nicer than it's predecessors....

You'll be dropping your 1.0 like a bad habit. I hope it doesn't cry when you rip it apart- the 2.5 uses ALL new parts so there is nothing to salvage!!!!

I decided to install the upgrade on my HVFF 1.0 (HVFF #3). I'll probably make another one in the future, but for now I didn't feel like making another HVFF haha! This thing is awesome and so silent I can barely hear it!!!!! I love the limited edition Melissa & Doug knob!!!!!
The HVFF 2.5 is unlike anything I've ever imagined.
I've said it a million times and will continue to do so. The HVFF is a MUST-HAVE accessory and #1 accessory.

GRRRRRR I got a lock nut instead of a regular nut. It's too thick - now the clamps don't close tight enough. Back to the store tomorrow

People have been asking about colors- I stopped painting them because there are too many different materials and the paint I've used doesn't stick very well to any of them. I will continue to look for something that might work...

I just want to say how much help Darthpaully has been recently and continues to be with figuring out what parts I need for everything to be compatible with my hv40; and the HVFF seems like an amazing accessory for it sounds like it will significantly help the focus problem and I am going to order it soon. (hope that made sense, I just wanted to make known how much help darthpaully is and that he isn't a "shady" dealer)

DarthPaully, just wanted to thank you for the fast delivery of the HVFF. I meant to mention I got it on Saturday and it fits and works beautifully.
Also the Melissa & Doug knob works excellent! The HVFF 2.5 M&D SE is a work of art. Cant wait to get some lenses to really work that manual focus.
BTW- any of you guys have a good recommendation for a nice lens to grab? I only have a wide angle lens, so just wondering if any of you have a good lens
you have really liked using. Tnx.
