Question on Cine Mode

In broad daylight is the camera's shutter on cine mode go higher then 1/48 or is that the highest it goes and then in low light shoot 1/24?

It stays at 1/48 as long as it can, then moves up. I just walked out the door and pointed it at a light green colored shrub that had direct sun on it, and it read at F 5.6 @ 1/48. I then pointed it at the sky, and it went to F 8 @ 1/150th
