It all started here. Then we had 2-3 other threads with that kind of rep spam in every post. It was even worst in threads with Huey vs Bob...

I don't know. Just after the last rep spam, a lengthy chat over that last night ended with the rep system being deleted. I don't know what all went on, as I was in bed sleeping!

Lol, he was being teh noob. He wanted to get 3 Hv30's and all this rep so he could live up to his dream of being a Mod. And Shig and Max other people(*cough* not me *cough*) were like rep has nothing to do being a Mod and he got a ton of negative rep from someone(this was a little after those random negative rep threads, like Seos). So he whined to Mal and Mal was like whatevvvv and got rid of rep. Which was a very good decision.

BUT a little before that there was this HILARIOUS talk between him, Shig ,and Max in the old chat. Like it was soooo funny. I'll try to find it, it's bookmarked.

Am I the only one that miss the time when the rep system was enabled?
Should it be a good idea to reopen it and see how things are going around now? ...As it's been over a whole year since the last incident.

Personally I don't miss it, there seemed to have been some sort of tipping point after which the system didn't make any sense.
The only thing I miss is the king of rep, Seo.. I always enjoyed his posts as they were highly informative. If he is sort attached to the enable button of the rep system, I'm all in.

Why not just keep it positive? You like a post, you give it a thumbs up. Leave the skulls out.

I agree, it was fun while lasted, but it didn't really add much value to the forum, especially when the hammering got out of control.
The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence.

Would be an option. But I'd rather have both:

I'd put a limit to 5 negative/positive posts per week, per user. That way it would take a longer period of time to get out of control, and could be reported as abusive quicker. That's a suggestion.

I don't think we need the rep system. This is a serious forum, not facebook or twitter, you know...

I know. Just like DVXuser.com. I've recently been given the permission to rate posts on there, and I think if only a few people could do it (like they setup the system) it could work. But as you said, there's no real need of that.
