Great video. If it wasn't written, it must have been improvised, right?

I'd like to know more about the technical details. Was it done with a raw HV? How did you record audio?

Edit: Oh, just watched "Big Book, Little Book". I can see the reflection of a much larger camera in the window. XH series?

Actually, no. This was done on a raw canon hv20, with a rode video mic, and a tripod.

Hey Jared! i gotta say this was pretty funny. Over all good editing, nice shooting, good material. The slow mo scene was perfect and really well executed. "what you gunna do when you hit the blawwkk" haha that was hilarious.

I have very few problems with your work, but one thing i noticed in the video was the amount of noise in the footage. This typically happens when theres very little light in the scene.
My suggestion would be start looking into lighting. If you dont have a budget theres plenty of recommended lights on the forum that you can find in home depot somehwere. but that would definately improve your footage. You can also look up the thread(s) on the best setting for low light shooting. But learning to light a scene correctly is very important so i would learn that first.

Theres a few audio problems as well. the "john you always suck" almost blew my ears out! so make sure to audio sweeten. Overview your whole video and figure out where the quiet parts are (3:52) and the loud parts (5:26) try to keep things from peaking.

I cant seem to tell if you color corrected. but of course its preferable that you do.

The shooting was interesting cuz it reminded me of the office a bit. but some parts your composition was off and the movement was a bit distracting. So make sure even when the camera is moving to have some good composition.

alright buddy thats all i got! very well done i must say. Proud of you kid.

It was good quality shoots and the script was interestingly enjoyable. Good job just didnt like the end where the credit was rolling over what we had already seen. Perhaps some other shots or behind the scenes would be putting the cherry or icing on the cake. What kind of lights did you use? and what settings on the hv20?

Keep up the good job, whats next?

Thanks @Fade for the review! I do agree, the beginning and ending scenes were noisy, due to low light. @STUDIO32MID, we didn't script anything! which is good and bad. We have made the decision to cut out all inside jokes so the video can be understood and liked by all, and not just our peers.

@Fade again, I did color correct with a preset called big country in magic bullet. Everything does not require heavy color grading, and in most cases in can take away from the video if it is. If this were an action or war style film, maybe a grungier look would suffice. But this is light hearted, so the grading was so. I also agree with the mic levels, I have yet to buy a boom. Idk if I should upgrade from the videocam or not.
