I really liked that video too. I think in fact that we are filming similar subjects performing similar activities, well my kids are a bit younger though
The takumar (with your post sharpening too) gives this 3d effect which is quite nice.
Give us some more details about your diy adapter (static, vibrating etc. ground glass). Also what light did you use for these interior shots.

Those are some really nice results. The lighting in the first scene is just excellent. The over the shoulder scene is a bit grainy, but still very film-esque. I think you're definitely on to something here.

Btw, cute lil girl. She reminds me of the daughter of a missionary couple I know in mexico.

Thanks! This test was taken in a kindergarten. Anyway she isn't my daughter, i'm only 22.
Adapter details in my first post.

I used only natural sunlight coming through the windows , but fortunately i think it isn't too bad after all.
Maybe some backlights would be good?

It obviously looks great, but a suggestion for the future:

Create a mask that includes parts of the picture that aren't originally noisy/grainy, and apply the sharpening effect on the mask. A 35mm adapter will help hide the grain, but sharpening in post will amplify it.

The reflector would help boost the light to the camera.
