    Default Panasonic AG-AF100 preliminary brochure

Panasonic released and then pulled the preliminary brochure on the AG-AF100 from their website but if you act fast there's still a copy floating around here.

Isn't that the norm? The camera's just a box with the sensor and we customize it to our liking to do what we want. Even the HV20's were setup with MUCH more money in add-on gear than the camera cost. The lens is what puts the image on the sensor.

Default Which lens will ship w/ AG-AF100?

The lens pictured on the front of the brochure is a very expensive Zeiss Ultra-Prime lens attached to the camera via a PL (positive lock) micro 4/3 mount adapter! It looks like a 32mm lens (not a zoom lens). So the question is what standard zoom lens will Panasonic sell with this camera?

It'll probably come wiht the same kit lens as the GH-1 which I'm told is not a bad lens (I'm told it's comparable to Canon L lens but ....kinda slow).

The kit lens is a standard optical glass lens, you really cannot compare it to lenses that use more exotic materials such as UD glass and Fluorite elements.

Actually I was thinking of Zeiss Contax G lens not the kit lens. Still...the kit lens is supposed to be decent.

    Default AG-AF100 - Lens

The problem is the zoom lenses for still cameras won't hold focus... so will the zoom lens for the AG-AF100 be a video lens where you can set the back focus and will it have a motorized zoom control?

The Zeiss Contax G series were for the Contax rangefinder 35mm cameras. It's a great lens but I am sure it would require an adapter and not be controllable by the camera?
