Default Ikan Elements Fly Kit (Handheld Rig)

I was looking at these handheld rigs by Ikan:http://www.ikancorp.com/productListi...?CategoryID=54

They want $249 for the basic fly kit. Has anyone made something like this out of parts from other suppliers? Or does anyone have any ideas on how to make one and where to get reasonably-priced components?

Personally, I wouldn't go with a 2 grip cage style rig. It will be extremely hard to pull focus with both hands occupied.

No doubt you can't pull focus with hands on each of the grips. However, I don't have a 35mm adaptor so I will be using autofocus (or preset manual focus) when both hands are on the rig. I think both hands on the rig would provide really good stability for hand crane type effects. I do have IRV's focus wheel. So there will be times when I want to rack focus. I thought I could hold one grip and put my other hand on the focus wheel to provide stability. If I had a shoulder rig, this would definitely be more stable than a handheld rig. But trying to use a shoulder rig for up and down moving shots seems like it would have some problems. Trying to do any of this with a bare hv30 is problematic so I'm just evaluating my options: handheld rig or shoulder rig.
