Default Make a Table Dolly for Under $20

Here's a table dolly you may find useful. It's designed for smaller camcorders (like the HV series, I use it with an HFS100) and allows for straight or curved dolly shots with any fixed pan or tilt angle. Check it out and tell me what you think.

Haha looks a little different but that is sick! Throw on some black spray paint and it's insta-"pro". I am definitely going to make one. Thank you for posting this.

Yeah, he's the man! It's so simple and genius at the same time!
But it's restricted to flat floor...but it's under 20$! Awesome!

    hey RetroFilms !

you DA man !!, ok u are making me want to drive over to Home Depot and get some tube and get some wheels. This is awesome !!

the first thing I thought of , is that it looks like this overpriced new unit from the United Kingdom, from company Hague.
it's called the " MTD HAGUE MINI TABLE DOLLY" for anyone interested.

Just watching the youtube video now, not sure what all the white text was on the right side of the video, but it was distracting, and it didn't make sense to me. I had to go play back the video, to see if I understood it better, but the text does not correspond at all to what you were doing.

uh can you explain what that was ?

    "this space for rent"
"if you don't have a monitor"
"making a mark on the table"
    "will help you know where"
"the center of the frame is"
"that mark will help you avoid"
    "lopsided framing like this"
    "sorry"

Sorry for the confusion, Jack. The text was an attempt to explain / make fun of the gaping hole I accidentally created on the right side of the fame during that segment. It was the best take (I even tried retakes to no avail) so I used it.

I felt like I couldn't just leave it without an explanation, so that was my effort to fix things.

Maybe I should have just left it alone.

LOL, I guess you have, or hopefully have the video, on your timeline, maybe just delete all that. the part, this space for rent, maybe add in a funny there, like starving artist or something, but yeah the rest, I was totally lost, I thought oh maybe you were testing it on a table where a monitor was and there were indentations on the table, so the wheels were not even..... was very lost and I think others will be also.

I'd just re-render it without that text and re-upload it. I'm pretty sharp, but I just couldn't figure it out

I need to get my hands on those wheels. I have a feeling buying them from a store that sells those skates is going to cost a fortune, more like $10 a wheel including the bearings. You were lucky to have some on hand.

Thanks for sharing your invention, it's amazing. I'm thinking that this same thing could be used - with a wider base, and slightly taller in height, for a dolly one would use on the driveway, on the side of a street, or even your backyard deck, - going length ways on the planks of deck boards. So many uses.

What I like about your videos, is that you don't skip any steps, and you don't assume that the viewer knows what the next step is. Oh and of course, shooting in HD is just an added bonus.
