I am interested in an sop (standard operating procedure) that you use to get good exposure.

it might look like:
1. white balance to white card
2. set cinemode/tv mode/24p, adjust exposure to look good on lcd
3. check zebra stripes
4. Adjust manual focus
5. Press "record"

So, I am using work lights that are diffused, a reflector and the lcd as a monitor. I did purchase a Sony 930 9" portable dvd player and am looking for a cable to hook it up with, but wonder if I will get better results using the sony as a monitor for exposure? and focus? So in short looking for exposure advice and your workflow.
