Default Severe Vignetting with DOF adapter!

Now that I've time I'm testing my new CAMs static dof adapter with a Canon EF 50mm 1.8 lens and I'm having problems with really noticeable vignetting. I'm pretty new to the DOF dapater world so do you know any tips to reduce vignetting? Is zooming in a bit the solution? I've read that a macro lens attached to the Canon EF lens might reduce vignetting too. My cam is a Canon HG10.

Oh, and how do I clean the dust particles? I think a blower might do it...

I think I've made a mistake, the macro filter has to go in between the camera and the dof adapter right?

Yeap, so your camcorder can focus on something closer, in this case : the focusing screen (to avoid vignetting)

Is this one good? I don't have much money left since I bought the Lilliput LCD...It's really hard to record with inverted image.

Can you give me any other tips to improve the quality of the image while I wait for all the equipment to arrive?

Yep it can do. Using this one from this particular seller, he's just great : recommended&trusted seller.
Something got lost in the mail, he's been up to ship another item for free, only good experience with this one.

The one listed is 52mm, so be sure to check if you'll need any step-up ring to fit from you camera to your adapter.

That one is the first I saw but wouldn't be better to get one for my thread size instead of using a step adapter? Is there any loss on quality by using one? The good thing is that my Canon EF lens has a 52mm thread so I could use it there too. Sorry if my questions seem kind of noobish but I am one big noob about all this.

No loss in quality using step-up rings. I'm using a 58mm macro lens on my twoneil adapter with my HV40.
Everything's fine, except i had to change my focusing screen recently for "bad moves" while cleaning it, but that's another story!

Why would you put it on the lens?

Ok i bought that one with the step down ring for 15$ all. Thx.

How should I clean my dof adapter? I noticed dust particles when filming today but I lost my blower so I ordered one on ebay along with a cleaning pen.

The thing is that I read, like you said, that the focusing screens are very delicate. Where do the dust come from? From the lens or from the screen? I dont want to clean that up improperly so I've to wait till I get my new blower.

    1) Don't use step-down ring, you'll get even more vignetting. Use step-UP ring : increase the diameter (of the ring from the camera to the adapter) so there's no vignetting.
    2) This.
    3) Don't touch it, unless you'd want to invest in a new screen. If so, there's a trusted ebay seller : Japan Stop. Got my EE-S screen for 39$ (instead of 75$ + tx here at the local dealer)

Oh, ok I have to buy another step ring, well 3$ isn't so much. I guess I didn't understand that right.

Ok thats similar to the blower i bought. Thank you for the answers.

I'll post back when I get all the things I ordered and I'll post a video test too.

HG10 has 43mm front thread size. FRom this you have to get a step up ring (unless your adapter comes with a 43mm thread size) to the proper size : my twoneil has (with nikon tubes) 57mm thread, so i bought a 58mm to 57mm step-DOWN ring, then i screw the macro lens (58mm) then the camcorder to the macro lens.
For you : Adapter > XXmm macro lens > 43mm to XXmm step-up ring > camcorder

    Well explained?
