Default HV20Pulldown.exe OR 32pulldown.zip where are they?

    Hi everyone,

I have read the FAQl; I have searched for links and references but I have found nothing except outdated links.

I have been working to setup my system for 24p workflow and pulldown removal (the free kind as I am on a very tight budget).

I've read the various posts and the excellent instructions. Including Eugenia's great posts and step-by-step. I am attempting to setup method 2.

However, when I go to get the HV20Pulldown.exe the link comes up 404. I when to the root of the site I see family pictures and such of Steve but no info or links to his excellent tool.

Is there a different source for the files? If not, would someone please be so generous as to provide me a copy?

Or if there is an alternative that would be fine too however, I will likely need to understand how to replace the HV20pulldown.exe with something different.

    Thanks so much.

    Stig

I have put a copy in the storage at hv20.info
    Hope that is cool!
I figure for the HV20 History/Archives this is important and as such should be in there.
I have attached a copy to this message for quick download.

    Drape, thanks for the plug.

Stigmon, the latest version, 1.3, of my batch 32 pulldown remover utility is linked in my signature below. I'm in the process of finishing up version 1.4 now. It will allow you to set the audio normalization level and normalization is much faster than versions 1.3 and below.

I believe those other utilities use an interpolating deinterlacer to create progressive frames. This causes a very small amount of resolution loss where there's movement. My utility (using ffdshow and avisynth) unweaves the fields and reweaves them back into the correct progressive frames without any interpolation giving you the full resolution 24p frames.

    Thanks so much DLK!
Also thanks for the link to the other utility by Khaver. In my frustration last night trying to get Eugenia's method 2 done I started down this path with Khaver's utility. However, I called it a night before getting that done.

Is there a big difference between the two with respect to 1) results and 2) simplicity/workflow. I assume that both can do batch processing of multiple clips/mt2's.

Thanks again to both of you.

    Cheers!!

OK so re-reading your post I see that there is some resolution loss with Eugenia's method 2 whereas there is none with yours. I guess I understand that.
I'll have to get your utility working too now.

    Cheers!

I just read up on these other methods and I believe I'm wrong. If the other methods use the avisynth plugin TFM (tritical's Field Matching plugin), interpolated deinterlacing is not used. It will, similar to my method, unweave and reweave the fields back into progressive frames.
