Default Looking for Low profile Lens Hood for Raynox 6600

Anyone seen a low profile lens hood for a raynox 6600 lens (72mm)?

I found some online but for the love of christ they are HUGE!

Im just looking for something thatsomeone else can say they've used with the raynox lens or other 72mm lens that they are happy with.

Whats the different between the square, round or petal hoods?

Would the A1 hood be too big?

It's not obstructing anything, and actually it's one of the best...just saying!

Yeah the Canon hood doesn't block anything...except flare

I also use a Cokin P filter holder and a 72mm adapter ring on my Raynox with a Cokin Modular Hood. It's pretty small and you can put filters in it too!

I like it. Unfortunately zoomed out all the way the hood gets in the way. But you only have to Zoom in a teeny tiny bit. Plus some of the filters are really good and helpful, like ND.

You can't have a small good hood for a WA lens - a small hood wont do you any good.

Think of the geometry involved - a wide angle, and something to shade the lens from light outside that angle. A small hood will shade just a tiny area of the lens - you need something to shade it all.

If you don't want a large hood, you'd better shoot with the sun on your back, then...

    Hey, KingDucky,
I am thinking about adding filters to my HV40+Raynox HD6600+XH-A1 hood. Really interested in these Cokin system you posted. Would you mind posting an image of all these gadgets put together? I am curious how the Cokin system works with the A1 hood?

    Thanks.

Hey KingDucky, I'm looking to purchase a lens hood just like the one you posted here http://lacolorshop.com/products/item.asp?id=a1hood But I've had a great deal of trouble trying to order from this site. We've tried ordering it twice and they've said both times that it was out of stock.

Are you still selling one for $20 shipped? If so, would it be possible to forward me your details? I really need a lens hood badly and the large square ones are extremely hard to find so if you get this msg please reply. Thanks!

My setup is the same as that picture up there. You can order them by calling Canon's Part departments. Ask for Canon XH-A1 lens hood. It fits PERFECTLY on my raynox 6600 wide angle lens, I had to trim off the inside of the lens a bit because I wanted to push it in further to guarantee no vignetting.

    Check this video out -

It doesn't get rid of all the flare from the raynox. I have it on mine but still get a lot of annoying flares here and there

Hi drapeama, do you like your cokin setup? What do you like about it, and would you recommend it over the XH-A1 hood? Do you use the filter slot quite often to make it worth it?

I personally vouch for the seller. Kind guy. And for 20$, it's already 10-13$ less than a brand new, it's quite a deal.
